Viewers today have the opportunity to admire great works from different artists. While traditional Chinese painting has a long history, ‘Free Style’ Chinese painting is one of a kind and is becoming a relatively new and unique concept.

Just see how I demonstrate the new technique of ‘free hand’ style to give ‘Life’ to flowers, birds and various contents on the rice paper.

Simplicity – by capturing the essence of a scene using minimum brush strokes to complete a painting.

No draft required – just use unique Chinese paintbrush to apply the ink and colors will naturally seep through the thin rice paper to create the final form.  However, a moment too long with the paintbrush will cause ink to seep through the thin rice paper. Speed Control is therefore an important technique to adjust the smoothness as well as the sharpness of the object.

Imagination - background is always left unpainted so that viewers can use their imagination to fill in the space. The unpainted portions are as important as the painted ones. The combination and layout of the space has a major impact on the final works.

My dedication to Chinese paintings is reflected in my great variety of works with plants, birds, fishes, insects, and etc.  To study the wilderness and the habitat of animal is the way to enrich my sense of creation, and to make possible the harmony trail with versatility, vividness and lively movements as the key symbols of Ming's Free Style Paintings.
